We are passionate about protecting wildlife in Capel. The Kent and Medway Biological Records Centre maintains a database of wildlife that developers use when they try to justify covering land in houses and roads. At the moment, there aren't many records in this database in Capel, when we know that we have loads of wildlife and rich biodiversity.

New government guidelines require developers to show a net biodiversity gain when they put in planning applications. If we can log our wildlife now and build up a large and varied repository of species, then we have a stronger footing when planning applications are presented and appealed.

Please enter any wildlife you have seen in the form below. You can also send an email of photos and recordings to savecapel@gmail.com and they will be linked to the record in the KMBRC database.
